Akin to Saterland Frisian lied (“thin, skinny, gaunt”), Danish and archaic German lind (“mild”), Icelandic linur (“soft to the touch”). Not attested in Gothic. Some sources also list Latin lenis (“soft”) and/or Latin lentus (“supple”) as possible cognates.
